Manchester Opera House, best venue and gig so far.
The balance was at last what I wanted, Francis was very focused, precise and with me all the time. Claude did really good impros with the choir parts and was really precise with all the bass parts with the Taurus Moog. Dominique was really inspired all the way long, great presence and amazing parts on the Mellotron strings and Voyager.
I explored new impros with " Arlette" AKS and Moog Liberation, I felt really relax on stage. Great audience, Let's hope it is a good omen for London. Playing London is always special and the Royal Albert Hall a challenge, we'll see...

My thoughts exactly!
We could tell that you were so happy with the concert right from the word go - you couldn't resit playing the theremin during your intro speech and I knew then that we had a great night in store!
Roll on the Royal Albert Hall, it is going to be amazing and we are all fully supporting you in every way we can.
A big thumbs up to your crew, they worked so hard. I'm still amazed at the speed in which they take down the equipment so that they can set it up at the next venue. A speeded up video of this would be a real insight.
Try to relax today (if you can) tomorrow is going to be the best!
THANK YOU JEAN-MICHEL for this blog
and for giving us everyday news from you . It is specially great for me becouse for material reasons I could'nt see you on stage . You are wonderfull

merci!
Thank you Jean Michel and co, waited 11 years for your return to Manchester and it was really well worth the wait!
By the time the curtain had gone up and as the egg-chair turned around, I was an emotional wreck - brilliant!! My throat was too dry to cheer and yes, I was the one who was the last to sit back down during that first ovation and I'm not sorry I did it!
I'd have asked for either of the team to sign my kazoo but.. there were already enough people asking for autographs and so, I didn't ask as I didn't have the voice to do so!
So, again, thank you. I realised when I got my tickets that I wasn't just buying tickets, I was buying an experience and that experience began long before the curtain went up.
:-)
I bought oxygene when I was 15 and the vinyl is nearly worn out. I was at Docklands and have watched China on DVD in amazement but last night in Manchester was the best yet. Perfect size venue and perfect performance of the original and best piece you have composed. Congratulations for such a brave and accomplished performance and thank you so much for the chance to see you 'doing it' for real. Merci beaucoup Steve

Thank you very much for this tour and for this blog, Jean Michel! I can't wait to see you in Berlin in a few days - it's so great that you perform here in Germany!
I like the idea of playing a tour with all these analogue vintage synthesizers very much. Sometimes I'm dreaming of 2 or 3 special concerts after this tour: a concert where you play the complete AOR music - maybe at the Paris opera house again... And than a DVD of the complete concert! Okay, that is only a dream of me... But it would be a perfect mixture of this tour and the Bourges concert.
Best regards from Germany,
Ludger (aka "LaDefense")
Wow thanks for keeping this blog up to date to tell us all about it.
Until today, I'd never thought I could get a ticket for the Royal Albert Hall concert, but I finally did! I got one earlier from the venue, and now I'm hyper excited!
I actually had a funny dream about it this week, where I dreamt that I managed to gate crash the show without a ticket, and got a front row seat without any problem...and the venue was almost empty! The funny thing is that I got a second row ticket earlier. That's just as good!
Good luck for the concert, it will be amaaaaazing I'm sure!
I believe I bought one of the youngest people there along last night. My 11 year old son has been brought up to the strains of your music. Last night he was finally able to see what I'd promised him I'd take him to see whatever the cost.
During your 'solo' in Oxygene 5 he looked at his digital watch, turned to me and said 'Dad...this is awesome...why does it have to end?'.
That brought tears to my eyes. My father introduced me to your music and now his grandson was feeling exactly the same emotions.
We waited outside to see you but eventually tiredness on his part took us back to our hotel.
I don't know whether you read these comments, but if you do, thank you. What you brought to our lives last night was absolutely priceless.
Thank you for such a great show in Manchester last night. It was the fourth time I have seen you (Docklands, Manchester Europe In Concert, Manchester 1997) and a magical night. It is very brave of you to go on the road with your "old ladies" as you call them! Incredible sounds, and a wonderful piece of music. Thank you so much, and I hope to see you in concert again soon.
Phil
Hi Jean Michel, I hope you find the time to read this post! Your Manchester concert was just what I needed and I wish to say a simple thank you! Last year I had a friend commit suicide, then my father passed away and then on top of all that my baby girl was diagonsed with cerebral palsy just before Christmas. Your music over the last 12 months has helped inspire and relax myself during this difficult period! Most of all though it entertains me, and sends into worlds that take me away from everyday life! Manchester marked the 3rd time I've seen you play live. The first being the docklands concert.Friday's concert was special because it was quite an intimate venue and it made it all the more special. I'd loved to have stayed late after the show to have met you and maybe shared a few words but my fiancee and myself had to return home to take care of our baby daughter. Many, Many thanks once again!
Mark.
London was AMAZING! I was there, mesmerised by every second of it!!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Loved the gig at Manchester, technically, very professional.
I've seen you three times in Manchester, Jean Michel, and I have always felt close to your performances and shows.
Love the 'Variations' tracks. Maybe an idea for your next album, should be called 'Variations' and include Variation 1-8 or perhaps 'Oxygene Variations'.
Good luck with the tour. a biento!
