Storm in Amsterdam

We joined my wife Anne in the Amsterdam airport. She was arriving from Paris at the same time as us from Birmingham. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around and enjoying the vibes of such a lovely city. Fiona was coming as well, back from Ireland.

In the evening started one of the biggest storm I have seen for a while. Fantastic lightnings lighting the all town.
... quite Wagnerian.
The venue did not allow us to get the full cyclo but the acoustic is probably the best so far. Everybody was in a very good mood, the concert was cool and easy with a nice audience. I had a problem with the laser harp in RV2 and I had to unblock the midi of the Synthex and going back to the harp for the end of the song..

After the show, I met Armin Van Buren. He told me he was a great fan of mine and that my music inspired him to become a musician! I felt really honored coming from one of the 2 or 3 best DJ in the world. We discussed about how my music has influenced trance music, which is so huge all over the world, except in France where we are more electro. I definitely feel part of that trance family. Armin is also a great human being and we promised to each other to keep the contact and to collaborate on one project, one of these days..

Fiona, if you read these comments, please ask, cajole, plead, whatever to JMJ to play Ireland again! :-) Thanks.!

Enjoyed the concert! Shame about the laserharp, but we understand things can go wrong in live performances :-)

Thank you for visiting Amsterdam, thanks most of all for letting me to enjoy your works live for the first time in my life (having been a fan for over 30 yrs).

Have a great tour!

I loved it - it was a great gig. A pity about the laser harp in the moving Rendez Vous 2, but that happens - strings break as well :). At least it didn't spoil my euphoria! Hoping to see you soon again!

hi jean michel..
really happy with the show in amsterdam, glad i was there. i was in the tribune section, right in front of the stage, perfect spot, JUST above the rest of the audience... :) from there me and my mates had a great overall view..

the sound was good, as always in that venue...best acoustic of holland i think..
great lightshow, and i also liked the fact it was more than 2 hours.. in 2008 in amsterdam i thought the show was a bit too short...

ive seen you several times live, also in countries far away.. and each time is a journey on itself again, you telling a different tale each time..

i hope that there will be a dvd of the tour even before it ends. :)
i will defo buy it!
also, i hope the tour inspires you for another album..
heres a tip: make it a double cd with all new material! haha.. u have time enough on the road to write down sketches and ideas..
go for it!

love from amsterdam,
c-jay

ps: half an hour before the show i met francis at the back of the venue, without intention.. totally co-incedential. :) he was smoking a cigarette, and i went from the cafe at the back to the front entrance..

give him my love, he was very kind and took the time for pictures and a chat...
its cool to meet him like this, and not after the show with 200 people waiting..hehe.. :)

Thank you for such a fantastic concert, and for meeting 15 of your fans after the concert, including me. The best day of this year for me so far :-).

Hope to see more of this tour soon!

Hi Jean Michel!

I loved the show in Amsterdam, although I had the feeling the crowd was a little bit cool at the start.
But at the end everyone was yelling for more and even standing on the chairs!
Too bad the laserharp jammed again during rv-2 but you solved it like a true pro.

I saw you like Trent Reznor and I must say, you were giving solos and variations of songs that left the realm of the "quite and relaxing" properties of your music far, far away, what an energy and violance! I was screaming the whole time, this was great!
At the end you guys had me worried for a while, it took you a while to get back and play more songs, but you all came back and played 3 more songs, it was great.

I saw you met Synth.nl. He is a great guy and has helped me with some studio descicions. His new cd is recommended. I had to leave early so I missed the afterparty which I was looking so forward to! I'll mail Synth.nl about it.
That was a great dissapointment. But then again, how much can you ask one in such short time I wonder.
I talked to Synth.nl just a couple of months ago how cool it must be to be able to talk, email etc, with you about music, the amount of knowledge you have must be mindblowing!

I' ve read the tourbook and your feelings about the distance between you and your fans. I totally understand but I really think you're one of the most caring people in the music biz at this level. Maybe we get another chance, eh? I have some synth and composing related questions, not easily answered in a room full of fans, LOL!

I've never witnessed a lasershow in my life, what an array of colours and how surreal. It was awesome!

I hope you produce a DVD of the show with a "talk through" of the concert it really makes you feel having you in the livingroom.

All I can say is, I was blown away by you four guys and I am grateful you had this gig in Holland.
Again a shame we couldn't meet up. Maybe in the future, I'd like that... (we're family after all ;-)

Have a great tour and you've given me enough energy to write music again. I was planning to ditch my Nord modular G2 but after the show I decided to keep it and dive deep into the workings of it.

Thank you so much you Jean Michel.

Au revoir,

PS
Thank you Dik from Vlaardingen for being as enthousiastic as I. It made the show even better. I hope you made it save home

It as a great moment for me to see you live on stage in amsterdam.
That evening will i never forget.
Thanks for the music you have played.

Why am I not too surprised that you seem to like thunderstorms...? ;-)

Welcome to the club, I also like watching the lightnings (when I'm warm and dry inside the house), it's the best lightshow and special effects you can get...

Greetings,

Strega
