J'ai eu l'occasion d'aller en Haïti en 1995 dans le cadre d'un court séjour de sensibilisation à la solidarité internationale. Si nous vivions à peine 1% de leur misère, déjà nous serions un peu plus sensible à leur cause et généreux à contribuer. Le seul hic, c'est de savoir à quel organisme faire confiance pour s'assurer que nos dons servent à bon escient. L'option proposée par Stephen (message ci-haut) me semble intéressante. Bon courage au peuple Haïtien.
My understanding is that there's no infrastructure to allow for the distribution of goods and services. So many people in the States stepped up to contribute what they could. Unfortunately, our government isn't very good at carrying out disaster rescue for plans. I'm made to think of how horribly the federal government treated the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
