Today I just want to share this with you...

I'd love for people like her to make a difference - I just don't think it's going to happen. A shame, though.

A little spank for all those costume-ties, ended with politically-correct applauses.
What is the context of this intervention Jean Michel ? The video and sound quality is bad, is it an old one ?

Humanity is a planet-contagion which is loosing control...
Make me think of someone who composed "Calypso 3, fin de siècle"! End of reign ?

Dear Jean Michel Jarre!

Let us believe a day we can see happy healthy children all over the earth who are allowed to be just... children,-and not small adults!

Let us believe people on earth a day can live in peace and freedom!

Let us believe the days of darkness and ignorance belong to the past..and the light of true love can fill the world with wisdom.

Yours truly

Dear Jean-Michel,

I think her speech is really impressive. I liked seeing the expressions on the faces of the members of the audience as they were touched by her message.

I wonder how many world leaders are, for example, trying to do something about the situation in Zimbabwe. Do they even know that the many elephants there are now being killed for their meat - to feed the government officials? And how about the other animals such as the giraffes, that the hungry population is slowly wiping out?

Why aren't the world leaders taking any action to stop all of these things?

Regards,
Roxanne

Everything is so right...
All she's speaking is the pure truth... Painful truth...
But somehow I do not believe that her real target is a better future of our planet exactly...
She is only a child (so she says in her speech) but she desperately want to be famous... And she (or her parents are) is clever enough to go this way, not the difficult way of actress or model...
She's famous right now... So quick... so easy... No any hard job - just to say the common truth, the correct thing at the right time in the right place.
Yeah...
Excusez s'il vous plaît Jean Michel... I know your point of view on the question of the future of our Planet... and I share it... And your investment is invaluable!
But this one seems just like another politician who will soon forget the purity of the meaning of her words...
But this is only my opinion about the particular concrete case. And just God knows why do I write it all here... :=)

If you took a child now, and got them to read the exact same speech, it would still sound just as relevant as it was back then. Which is terrible, really, isn't it?

Dominika a dit…

This girl is so right. I would like to see a world which isn't so selfish and bad. I'd love to see children who can be healthy and happy, who can live their childhood with pleasure, not thinking about pesimistic future. Why is it impossible... ?

greets from Cracow.

The UN Declaration
of the Rights of the Child (1959):

* The right to a name and nationality.

* The right to affection, love, and understanding and to material security.

* The right to adequate nutrition, housing, and medical services.

* The right to special care if disabled, be it physically, mentally, or socially.

* The right to be among the first to receive protection and relief in all circumstances.

* The right to be protected against all forms of neglect, cruelty, and exploitation.

* The right to full opportunity for play and recreation and equal opportunity to free and compulsory education, to enable the child to develop his individual abilities and to become a useful member of society.

* The right to develop his full potential in conditions of freedom and dignity.

* The right to be brought up in a spirit of understanding, tolerance, friendship among peoples, peace, and universal brotherhood.

* The right to enjoy these rights regardless of race, color, sex, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, and property, birth, or other status.

"It is sad that in our time we still have to be reminded that children have rights"

And it's not enough to only write children's rights on a paper!

True love,-at last the strongest power in the universe will fight the rights for children of earth:

"Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
(Corinthians 13:4-7)

Maybe the future looks dark, but i have a very optimistic view of the future of the earth!

I wish i can find the energy of optimism in the new music by Jarre!:)

Best wishes
Elisabeth

It has been my feeling for years that adults don't care about the future or children in general.

Just look at the suburbs...the areas where people have their stupidly huge homes, huge cars, etc...with SUPPORT THE TROOPS stickers on them.

It's ludicrous. You must lie in the bed you make ultimately. We have nowhere to go....and we are killing ourselves.
